TUĞRUL'S
JOURNEY
JOURNEY
For over 30 years, I held various roles in FMCG in Turkey, Russia, and CIS countries. For the last 20 years, I was part of the team leading Efes's global brand development, M&A projects, and new market entry initiatives.
During my time as General Manager of Efes Turkey, we executed numerous projects aimed at growing the brand's and company's contribution to society, expanding the market, fostering beer culture, and promoting innovation, culture, arts, tourism, and sports. We strived to implement strategies that benefited all stakeholders.
To accelerate innovation and new product development while amplifying their impact, we structured innovation and intrapreneurship initiatives and established collaborations with numerous startups in the ecosystem, ultimately working towards Efes becoming a startup-friendly company.
Today, I continue to work with social impact ventures, creating value in the startup ecosystem as an angel investor and mentor.
I've always loved managing my work with an entrepreneurial mindset, as if it were my own business.
As of January 2022, I bid farewell to corporate life and continue my work by providing consulting and mentorship to domestic and international companies and startups.
Since 2022, I have also served as the president of the 'Entrepreneurial Institutions Platform,' established with the vision of transforming corporate companies in Turkey into entrepreneurial organizations.
Genwise has become one of the most significant endeavors I've undertaken to date, pouring my passion and experience into it.
Additionally, I volunteer at the Village Schools Change Network and raise support through runs every year.

ZEYNEP KURMUŞ
ZEYNEP'S JOURNEY
I served as Market Research Coordinator at Piar Gallup and SIAR for 5 years, was a partner at Şensezgin Kurmuş Consulting for 25 years, and spent 8 years in NGOs, including founding and serving on the board of PWN Istanbul, serving on the board of KODA, and on the board of the Üsküdar American Alumni Association. I wrote my life's mission twenty years ago: “deliver results that add value”. For years, I've been in the business of research and production, always using the best methods. I've packaged thousands of projects, jobs, ideas, and clubs. Some were very successful, others faded away. I believe people and organizations have great potential to create "value" and "truly benefit the world," especially once they connect with the right methods, approaches, and people. That's why I'm always searching for and learning about the right methods, approaches, and people; there's no end to learning. My childhood, youth, adulthood, and middle age passed this way, and I hope my old age will also be filled with these creations. I seize opportunities whenever I see them: I said, 'People prove themselves on the field,' and I got into basketball for 15 years. I said, 'This school can be managed differently,' and I joined the student union for 7 years. Thinking that university could instill a different kind of learning and research, I enrolled in a university in America. From America, I said, 'There must be another kind of superpower,' and I got into Russian. Thinking Turkey could be a different kind of bridge here, I started researching markets targeting Central Asian Turkic republics. I got into organizational development and training with TMI. I founded Şensezgin Kurmuş Consulting with Emel Şensezgin, saying, 'This business can be done differently,' and I'm still continuing. I asked, 'Where are women in corporate life?' and founded the PWN Istanbul Chapter with Demet Çaldağ. I said, 'A different kind of education is possible in villages with Mine Ekinci,' and I supported and continue to support KODA. Now I say the journey is not over yet, and I'm embarking on Genwise with another Genwise, Tuğrul Ağırbaş.
